La meringa

Meringa e rivista

Buone notizie, finalmente!
Insomma Paul dice: "Stop? B*ll*cks!
Grazie Paulie! :))

Meringa

250gr zucchero a velo
100gr di albumi
50ml acqua

For Liverpuddlians and English speaking people everywhere …

Good news, at last! Amazingly good news, just what I needed to know! After my friend Manu brought me Q, the magazine remained on a shelf by the window without me noticing the words on the cover.
Then one day, when I finally made the decision to read the long article inside, I  suddenly realised the meaning of the message. After all it's not my language so sometimes even the important things  slip by me unnoticed.
The words are: "Stop? B*ll*cks! I'm having too much fun", the message is that Paul never made any announcement regarding a possible last tour.
Over the past 2 years there have been these alarming pieces of news floating around the web and on tv claiming that Paul would be planning his final tour. Of course I believed it was true so I went to the concerts in Liverpool and Paris and watched them with a pain in my heart. All I could think was how tired of  singing and playing on stage for his audience and for me he must be. Nothing of the kind! He was having too much fun, how silly of me to believe that!!! Thanks Paul for reassuring me, I really needed it!

Song of the day: Band on the run

Ingredients:

250gr powdered sugar
100gr egg whites
50ml water
whipped cream
raspberries and mulberries

Preheat oven to 120°. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and draw two 7- inch (18 cm) circles on the paper. In the bowl of an electric mixer, whip the eggs whites until soft peaks form. Combine 180gr sugar and 50ml in a small pan and bring to the boil, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Cook until syrup reaches 108/110C. With the mixer running, pour the hot sugar syrup in a thin stream over the egg whites. Beat until the egg whites are stiff and glossy. Gently spread the meringue inside the circle drawn on the parchment paper and bake for 2 hours at 120°.

Eton Mess
To serve arrange alternating layers of the whipped cream, meringue, raspberries.
With the second disc of meringue I made a Pavlova.
